The other movie scored by Lalo Schifrin for William Girdler was DAY OF THE ANIMALS in 1977. Despite the low qualiy of the film, Schifrin did, as always, a great work.

A 31 year-old Elmer Bernstein composed this really interesting score at the begining of his career for one of the worst movies ever, ROBOT MONSTER (aka MONSTERS FROM THE MOON or MONSTER FROM MARS). A primary example of how effective (and musically interesting) a soundtrack can be with minimum budget. Any possibility here? :D

In 1980 Henry Mancini composed the music for three feature films, the TV movie THE SHADOW BOX directed by Paul Newman, the Bo Derek vehicle A CHANGE OF SEASONS directed by Richard Lang, and Walter Bernstein's opera prima LITTLE MISS MARKER, a period comedy starring Walter Matthau and Julie Andrews. No one of their scores have ever been released in any format. What about starting with charming LITTLE MISS MARKER?

Can't seem to get the youtube embed to work - but you can listen to the end credits by Shirley Walker in this clip.

I have many soundtracks on my wishlist, but here is one of the big ones.

I don't know what I want more: an expanded release with more music from the film or a "complete" release that is more chronological.

Wishlist:
1. 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992), Vangelis (the official OST feels more like a studio album and a lot of the tracks are different in the film, but then again it's Vangelis so it's sort of expected)
2. A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004), Thomas Newman (I kinda want an extended release, it's such a nice score)
3. 28 Days Later (2002) and 28 Weeks Later (2007), John Murphy (I know there's the La-La Land release but it's just the OST with some new tracks, I want the film versions)
4. StarChaser: The Legend of Orin (1985), Andrew Belling (There was a release but it was missing some of the more electronically-driven tracks)
5. The Sheltering Sky (1990), Ryuichi Sakamoto and Richard Horowitz (some of Sakamoto's tracks are different or missing, all of Horowitz's tracks were different, and some of the ethnic source music is hard to find)

Ok. Not Barry's finest. Anyway, a rarity among rarities. This 1982 Canadian horror movie, the first (and only) of the genre with music composed by John Barry, used lots of synthesiser arrangements created by Jonathan Elias and John Petersen. Any interest in this one?

The only unreleased John Barry score from 1980 (the same year of Somewhere in Time!!) is this touching drama directed by Gus Trikonis, with Deborah Raffin and Diane Lane. The delicate score featured some lovely variations on Elvis' Love Me Tender, adapted by Barry himself.

Now that Jerry Goldsmith's score to the 1974 farce S*P*Y*S has been released by La-La Land in their series "Goldsmith at 20th", I've thought both versions of the score, Goldsmith's for the USA and John Scott's for the European release, would have been a very interesting double musical journey if released together. Here you have the main cover (USA poster) and the flip side (UK poster).

In regards to the improvement in sound quality when music is presented with a good cover art, I think it is about time for Jerry Goldsmith's THE CHAIRMAN to be released as a DeLuxe Edition, containing the complete original recording (albeit in mono) paired with the popular 1969 Tetragrammaton stereo release tracks. Icing the cake, what about using the wonderful art created by amazing Frank McCarthy for the original poster of the movie?
