Still a long way to go...

One more reward option that would be certainly very intersting would to contact some of your regular "composers" who could donate or autograph some of their most popular titles... eg autographed copy of Clash of the Titans LP would be very tempting... or Young Sherlock Holmes autographed by Broughton - although that one was actually available from CF at the time... or Jaws double autographed by JW could probably generate some more funds. There is MANY similar options and all of those mid level rewards are now gone.

Half way through the campaign, but not quite halfway through the funding needed! Seems like it's going to be a long shot. What is interesting is if we had this in stock, we'd easily sell 1000-1500 in a couple of weeks. But asked to prepay (even at the slightly elevated price of $25), only 231 have backed so far. Those people who would readily buy it if it was in stock should step up now, otherwise it may never be in stock!

And I want to get on to the Haunting!

More/different rewards and funding tiers between $50 and $500 are needed IMO, Roger. Look at how successful the Amazing Stories, Battlestar Galactica, and Jerry Fielding tiers were, completely selling out. Comb the archives for more rare goodies you can put up, and consider offering "deal" tiers like Lukas did on his Kickstarter, as I suggested above...

I'm not sure this is a long shot. These things typically stall for a while in the middle, but pick up again in the final week and last day or two in particular. But if it does fail, I really really hope Intrada will consider trying again with a different title. My personal taste aside, I'm not sure Tiomkin has the draw he used to outside of the epics and famous westerns perhaps (I assume Rio Bravo sold well?)...but even The Alamo rerecording famously had disappointing sales for Prometheus.

I myself would love to have the DMFM cd released, But I think many younger collectors are maybe not as interested in scores of the 50's. I hope if this campaign continues in the future you will think about releasing scores from the mid 60's to the early 80's.



As far as the funding, People that would order the cd once it's release must pre-order to get it made in the first place. (NO BRAINER!)

This is an exciting experience for us, of course. And it's certainly a new one. We have self-financed all of our previous thirty-three years of releases. And with us working with every major film studio these days, our meager finances do get spread around. But crowd-funding is popular these days so it should be of great value to all of us fans of film music! I dearly hope this initial Hitchcock/Tiomkin project is of interest to enough people to make it a success. William Stromberg said the other day he absolutely loves the music and can't wait to get his hands on it. He's surely one of the finest assets we have in restoring great film music today! For my part, I'll be anxious while the next several days unfold. But excited as well. I love learning about all things movie music. Intrada is one of the longest-running, most established and successful soundtrack labels there is. It's always been part of a fascinating community of soundtrack enthusiasts be they serving in the profession or enjoying it as a pastime.

So here we find Intrada on another learning experience. And what a great one it is - Tiomkin at his most colorful, most subdued, most sensitive, most suspenseful. Should this wonderful score tickle too few fancies, we'll dive right into another one with just as much enthusiasm and Intrada-style expertise. Goldsmith? Searle? Friedhofer? Another Tiomkin? More Herrmann? A totally unexpected Elmer Bernstein? One of the Broughton's we've missed along the way? Maybe we'll all come out winners and get them all.
