Intrada Soundtrack Forum

These are the top three scores on my wish list. I'm sure Intrada has looked into the Psycho III and IV after releasing II not too long ago. If there is a reason the rights can't be obtained, it would be nice if Intrada could at least give feedback as to why requests that are made constantly don't get releases, while other scores to films I've never heard of or have never seen requested, seem to get released. Is this suggestion forum a complete waste of time?

You make a very valid point. While the score for Psycho 3 wasn't on my holy grail list, I have seen a lot a requests for this score. While I can't say if there ever was a n explanation as to why this much requested score hasn't gotten a release, I can say I have made numerous requests for certain scores, (The Toy by Patrick Williams); that NEVER get a reply.

T. Newman Fan, you clearly have NO idea what you are talking about! You honestly believe there are only three people after this score! I've read your "theories" as to why these don't get released and I can assure you the demand is higher than you assume. All you have to do is click on the "coming soon" releases and you are instantly proven wrong. I would bet all I have if a poll was taken regarding the demand for Psycho sequel scores vs most of these foreign scores here in America, Psycho sequel scores would win by a land slide so it obviously has nothing to do with the demand. Must I remind you, Psycho has enough of a following to this day that someone decided a "Bates Motel" series was worth creating. Although I try very hard to forget about the 1987 "Bates Motel" as that, and perhaps the literal remake of Psycho, are to the franchise what the Star Wars Christmas Special is to that franchise. All I'm really saying with this rant is that I have lost all interest in yours or anyone else's opinion as to why we don't get the releases we want. It would be wonderful is we could get it from the horses mouth and have Doug or Roger give actual feedback saying "This is the issue we have with releasing these at this time.." or "We are working on getting the right but.." etc.

I guess I've been living under a rock since I didn't realize the high demand for scores such as "Firewalker", "Giuda Uccide Il Venerdi", "The Winged Serpent", "La Tigre E Ancora Viva", "Sandokan Alla Riscossa", "Rabbia Furiosa", etc...etc!

Some scores are easier to release than others. I suspect all three films are on some label's shortlists. Remember, LLL's Beverly Hills Cop took the best part of a decade to release. And Intrada revealed in 2011 they were releasing Conan The Destroyer but it still isn't out yet (due to 'paperwork' as Roger said recently). Another example: people were asking for Prince Of Thieves and Roger Rabbit for many, many years and they didn't come out until 2018.

If there's zero chance of getting a title released, someone at the labels usually says so. And they've never said so about the three titles you mention. If I were you I'd just sit back and forget about them. They'll probably turn up at some point.

I hope you're right litefoot. I don't want to give up hope but I just wish someone in the know would FINALLY give an actual answer based on facts and firsthand knowledge. Been waiting patiently for several years and patients finally wears thin. Guess I've been taking the same approach as Andy Dufrain in "Shawshank Redemption" to get the funds for the library. Wear them down and hope they finally release the scores if for no other reason than to shut me up.
