James Fitzpatrick of Tadlow has said that he will rerecord John Barry's Moonraker score if fans can raise £25,000 on Kickstarter. In just 24 hours over £6,000 has been raised.

Up to 12.5k now. Roger Moore and David Arnold have retweeted it. The main newspaper in Holland, De Telegraaf, has an article on it as do other Dutch news outlets. Those Dutchmen just love their Bond stuff. I did not expect it to do this well this quickly... all to the good!

I wonder if EON have half an eye on this to see how it does?

Let's hope the second 12.5k is as easy to obtain as the first!

That's cool.

For me, the only existing Bond album presentation that I'm not too happy with is Licence to Kill. The sound and performance of the original recording for Licence to Kill is perfection in my humble opinion, so hopefully the original tracks can be presented definitively at some point.

Up to £14,125 now. Amazing really. And there's still 27 days to go.

At this rate, James Fitzpatrick and Nic Raine will be able to do the score with the Royal Phil and Shirley Bassey singing.

I'm in. I am not a great Bond fan but I hope this experiment works. It could be a new way of raising funds for new recordings of lost masterpieces.

I doubt that anything much less popular than the Bond series would get anywhere close to an appreciable amount in Kickstarter contributions.

Bond fandom relatively has no bounds.
