Intrada Soundtrack Forum

Does anyone know how accessible are archives of Orion Pictures, United Artists or HBO? I don't remember any releases produced by these companies in recent history...

This film was produced by Open Road and only distributed trought Columbia... a common problem... where to list all of these small companies producing majority of Delerue's work and the other problem: should I really put all the european productions on the list when there is a lot of small local companies with no info if they are accessible or not?

Georges Delerue fans my rejoice once more. If Intrada's great release of The Pick-Up Artist wasn't enough, Universal Jazz is releasing next november a new batch of film scores releases including an album devoted to Delerue's scores for L'Homme de Rio and Les Tribulations d'un Chinois en Chine! According to producer Stéphane Lerouge, Alexandre Desplat himself took some some time from his busy schedule and conducted newly recorded versions of several Delerue cues from L'Homme de Rio, because these were missing from the original masters. The rerecorded portions mainly concern various samba and bossa cues written by Georges Delerue as source music. Les Tribulations was released on LP by United Artists, so my guess is we should more or less expect the same content.

Now, if only Préparez vos Mouchoirs could follow somewhere in the future, that would be really great. This LP has always been one of my favorite Delerue soundtracks!

That's wonderful news, Gordon. Re: L'Homme de Rio; is it likely they will include ALL the tracks that were on both the French and U.K. EP 45 rpm discs? I believe they both had completely different tracks, the French one had 3 and the U.K. one had 6.

I wonder what's the fate of the Delerue's score to the film "Maxie" (1985). It's a wonderful score, as expected from the master, and I posted a number of clips on the youtube.

It's also one of the two Delerue scores that, based on what I've heard, use a drum machine.

As much I want all Delerue scores released, I think it's best to focus on what's realistic and this MGM/Orion film is one such candidate.

I sure hope though that it doesn't share the same fate as the MGM film "House on Carroll Street."

I hope something is in the works for 2012.

Quartet Records will be releasing Women in Love very soon.

Will Intrada be able to meet them to the challenge by releasing a Delerue this year?
