There are a lot of reissues out these days from all directions. One of the by products of the limited release model that we helped initiate back in 1985 with our very first LP is that today, many licensors understandably just keep re-licensing these "out-of-print" titles. In actuality, many of the so-called "limited editions" and out-of-print titles are neither limited nor out-of-print. Fun while it lasted.
While Intrada will continue to focus on looking forward rather than backward, we certainly agree that a lot of this music really should be available not only to today's audiences but also to new audiences and still newer audiences down the line. We're quite happy with our current model that remains amongst the most customer friendly, letting you have at least some say in the quantities pressed. Enough copies get around to meet the demand for people just looking for good music and then things become deleted, acknowledging that there are plenty of limited edition fans wanting the rare artifacts as well.
We also read our email and accept that many people want a chance to own titles that once were available but are no longer around. So we're listening. We'll be bringing back some things within our control, albeit on a pretty select basis. Things that disappeared quickly or have been out of the marketplace for quite some time. But we'll be judicious here and reissues will be based largely on the amount of mail we've had over the years.
One important item to mention here. If a given title is presented from truly all-new masters and includes any additional material and whatnot... yes, we'll recommend it to one and all. If the title is drawn from essentially the same masters or includes no new material, we'll certainly make note of this as well so those already owning the music don't waste their hard-earned money re-buying it. Unless they really want to, of course.

All of this said, one of the really important reissues, drawn from all-new vault elements, is being released this coming Tuesday. And it features some cool extras. Plus - it's one of our very favorite projects. And, yes, this is one I recommend.
