From a design perspective, Digitpacks can be very attractive. But they are made out of cardboard and exposed to the world.

Practically, however, a jewel box protects the disc and artwork, and are easily replaced.

I must say I like the tactile pleasure of the digipak. It kinda feels special (especially a multi disc set) although you have to be gentle as it is only card. Bladerunner is a good example as is the deluxe man of steel. The LOTR complete recordings would not be anywhere near as special feeling if they were jewel cased. Just my twopenneth.

Mmm, honestly I don't care.

My problem with jewel cases is they often don't arrive intact from America. Be it a crack on the front case, the hinge clip is broken, or the teeth inside the case are broken.

However Digipacs are awkward to get the CD out and aren't quite as protective.

Neither are ideal.

Guys, if you would, please avoid clamshells that hold discs with a gorilla grip. Disc 2 on the Ava set felt like it was going to snap in half.

Moving to another style altogether would be great as clamshells often scratch brand new discs, presumably during the insertion process. My experience anyway. I imagine it might be due to how much more case is in the way when they sit open and face-up.

If it's Digi-pack, I'm out. Have far too many that have not aged well, and I won't buy them... so you'll lose me. Already voted for whatever good it does.

Can those of us who care only about the music itself have a little tidbit of info about this project? For instance, around when is it anticipated to be for sale?

I clicked, I don't care. The fact is, there's so little released that interests me these days (not a criticism, my wants list is not so big after 15 years of some fantastic releases), so when a soundtrack is released that I want, I'm so delighted that I really don't care what the disc comes in.
