James Horner oriented, but still some hints for future releases... ^^

Great interview.

I can't help but mention my excitement over the elements for Volunteers being located for sure. Now will someone please claim ownership?!

Interesting read indeed.
Great to see/hear what goes on behind the scenes to finally get these great scores out to us.
I too cant wait for the next Horner to arrive, expanded 80's sounds great to me. :D
There must be some Volunteers to release well Volunteers

Hopefully it is Cocoon. A fantastic score. Just keep that awful Sembello song away from the main score program.

I'll take anything actually. Cocoon would be great, though he said an expanded classic and I don't think Cocoon is considered a classic. Don't get me wrong it's in my top 5 scores by him. The word classic must mean something really special and looking at the 80's. Star Trek 2 and 3 could be considered that, but that's been done. Then you have An American Tail which hasn't been expanded. I never guess right on these, but I'm going out on a limb and saying An American Tail. Wishful thinking I'm sure.

AAT is what got me into film scores so this has a very special meaning in my little heart :)

I beg to differ. I think Cocoon IS a classic. Not a classic on the level of Star Wars, of course, but definately a classic of the 80s.

I agree, Cocoon is a classic of the 80's as a movie (a very iconic film of that decade) and a classic James Horner score (a milestone score in his career). If Krull is James Horner's Star Wars, then Cocoon is certainly his E.T (and Willow his Conan). ! A gorgeous score with an amazing sound for its time.

If Roger meant "a classic score" then it could also be : Brainstorm (I wonder why he would have said expanded since the actual score has never been released, the Varèse album being a re-recording), Field of Dreams and Glory. And of course the animated classics : An American Tail and The Land Before Time.

Roger didn't say "late 80's" but now I'm thinking of that : maybe Willow has become easier to deal for Roger since Disney is owning Lucasfilm. I don't know for sure if the score is the property of Fox or Lucas, or both.

Oh wow, that was an awesome interview Roger! That was quite a read, now how the whole releasing a soundtrack process works, it must take countless hours to get it done. As for the Horner soundtracks coming up; I'm glad we will eventually be getting The Rocketeer, and I cannot express how excited I am for the 80s classic that's getting expanded. I don't know what it will be, but there are so many good guesses to what it could be, though. :D I'll just wait and see what it could be. :3

Although i would love it to be either Cocoon or Willow.
How about *batteries not included for the expanded 80's title or is everything on the MCA release?
