I'm hoping this score will receive a proper treatment with the film track versions. The music sounds so much better in the movie. I'm looking forward to both Conan scores but Red October is a personal favorite of mine from the 90's.

I'd like to throw in my 2 dollars worth. I'd like to see a complete release of this score myself. I love this score, Poledouris's best work.

The MCA release is nice but a lot of great stuff is missing from that release.

The booty was a crappy release from DVD... (according to rumour!!

) and feel that a complete release with all the great Michael Boddicker / Poledouris stuff at the end is well justified... If my memory serves well they reused Payback from No Mans Land on the film so it would also be good to hear if there where any other segments or alternates that were rejected... Or just unused..

I'm pretty sure the good folks @ Intrada will release a 2-CD set. I think the remastered 1990 MCA sdtk will sound a lot better. However I am also looking forward to the film tracks. I wonder if they could remove the chorus from the "Nuclear Scam" piece as a bonus track?

That particular piece was used in the closing credits w/o the chorus.

Also in regards to Michael Boddicker contribution to the climax of the score. Yeah it does sound great.

Just thinking out-lound.... :wink:

Being as "Patriot Games" and "Clear and Present Danger" now have a 2 CD release, "The Hunt For Red October" should be next.
