After this week's marvellous CD release of Henry Mancini's Original score
for Blake Edward's DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES I hope that the
Original Soundtrack for Stanley Donen's ARABESQUE is in
the pipeline too ...
This is a very important Mancini score which urgently needs to be
released - the RCA Album like CHARADE was a rearranged re-recording
of the main themes in a more popular lounge music way which didn't
do the Original Soundtrack recording justice.
As Intrada has business contact with Universal I guess that his ARABESQUE
already is in consideration for future release ...
As Intrada have released the Original Soundtrack recording of CHARADE
this makes sense - as both movies are like "brothers" having the same director,
same composer and the same Style/Genre.
I really hope for a CD release of ARABESQUE in the near future ...

I'm sure they'll get around to it if possible.

I will say that I think the RCA album is one of the most enjoyable Mancini re-recordings, if that's even saying much. You've got to love the "The Zoo Chase" arrangement.

I'd like Arabesque to. It's a great score.

I'm sure Arabesque is a great score, after all it is 1966 Mancini. I don't remember it, as the only time I saw the film was at the cinema, & that was a long time ago. I'd just love...The Great Race, 1965. It's Mancini, directed by Blake Edwards & Warner, & I'm hoping for a big fat release, & being greedy, a lovely looking Blu-ray as well.

I'd like to see Mancini's Arabesque and Two For The Road released side by side like Hatari and Charade. Also The White Dawn and just about anything else by one of the greatest Hollywood composers.

It's always a special day when Intrada announces another Mancini.

And by the way, has anyone pre-ordered Fear upcoming from Quartet? I have my order in via Intrada. Word up and heads up, this looks to be gem.
