I just recently tried to access their site and it is no longer there it appears. I was also reading a post over at another message board that mentioned the phones were no longer working. Anyone have any information regarding Cinefonia? Have they gone out of business?

Indeed, yes, they are !

Cinefonia boss Didier Lepretre confirmed that he has "frozen" his business due to financial problems (read abyssal problems !). He explains that the magazine was fine but the records sold poorly, especially the Gabriel Yared ones: he paid each 3 000 copies to the composer but only sold 10% ! There were 6 volumes !
Sadly, a new Delerue CD was about to be release but it's canceled.

Well that is very sad to hear. I actually have all six of the Yared CDs and am glad to have them. I wish they were still in business as they had a lot of wonderful CDs. I am even more disappointed to hear since there was going to be a Delerue released . Any chance you know which one? Well that is very unfortunate and I wish Didier Lepretre the very best and hopefully he can start up his company again at some point. Is there any way to still purchase any of the cinefonia discs?

Where can you get these Yared discs? I like the Yared! When did all this go down? Anyone have any info on what these Yared's are - compilations, new scores, suites, Troy???? Sounds like poor publicity did this one in, since this is the first I've heard of this.....

www.screenarchives.com still looks like they've got most of Cinefonia's releases for sale. Just search for Yared.

Shame about them shutting down. I got both their John Scott cds and loved them. A lot of their other releases looked quite good, but I just never had enough money to spare.
