Completely agreed on the need for more expanded (or unreleased) Eidelman scores! A very gifted composer and very underrated. I think Star Trek VI may still be my favorite Trek score -- so many great themes and cool elements unique to Trek. Lots of memorable parts in the film with a perfect meld of visuals and music.
My top 5 Eidelman want list: 1. Christopher Columbus: The Discovery, complete and remastered. I know Intrada wanted to release this score at the time of the film, but unfortunately Varese outbid them. I say unfortunately because Doug on this very board said he would've released a longer album if they'd gotten it. Seriously, of all Eidelman's work THIS, even moreso than Star Trek VI is his most epic, complex score. It's also the longest and would really take a two-disc set to be given full justice. I've actually sat through the awful film twice just to hear Eidelman's masterpiece. Some of the absolute best music was left off the original album. I hope Varese don't have rights in perpetuity on this, but if they do then I seriously hope they consider it for a future Club release!
2. Meteor Man -- no brainer there. Totally unreleased.
3. Free Willy 3 complete and remastered. Original album less than half an hour in length! Again worried that Varese may have perpetuity rights. My dream release would be a box set of all three wonderful theatrical Free Willy scores complete and remastered -- Poledouris's original classic also had less than half an hour of score on the original release, and as for the sequel, which featured multiple new themes and interesting variations on the original themes, it only received a measly 3 cues (less than 10 minutes!) on the commercial soundtrack, full of crappy songs of course.
4. Triumph of the Spirit, complete and remastered. I'm not sure how much unreleased music there is but this is one of Eidelman's most powerful scores and I always found the sound on the original album to be lacking.
5. The Lizzie McGuire Movie -- I heard from a friend that this is actually really good, and I've listened to the 7 minute suite on the commercial release which was very nice indeed. Otherwise unreleased. Perhaps a remote possibility for Intrada given the Disney connection?
