Your TOP TEN Scores for "the Island"

Hi all

I hope you don't mind, but I love this little game. Here we go...

Let's say you crash land on an empty island and you have to stay there for a very, very long time (think Castaway or Robinson Crusoe). But you are lucky, because you are allowed to have TEN of your favorite Scores/Soundtracks (sound system of your choice is included ;-)

on the island.

Which ten would you choose? Remember, it is for your own listening pleasure. For sunny and for rainy days. There is no right or wrong answer. The market value of your CDs does not matter (you will get them back when you return home years later) Just your personal taste and the re-listening (over and over again....) quality of the Scores you choose.

Here is my selection (in random order):

GLORY (Horner), CONAN THE BARBARIAN (Poledouris), THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (Williams), DIRTY HARRY (Schifrin), RAMBO: First Blood Part II (Goldsmith), HALLOWEEN III (Carpenter), LORD OF THE RINGS - RETURN OF THE KING (Shore), PREDATOR (Silvestri), ROCKY II (Conti, I love "Conquest" & "Overture"!!!), ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE (Barry).

I know it's tough! I am already missing at least another ten ;-)

As predicted, I am already ill about a few that I had to leave off, especially COMA and DOLORES CLAIBORNE and probably MARY REILLY as well. Hopefully I won't ever get stuck on this hypothetical island any time soon...

Glad someone picked THE OMEGA MAN and GET CARTER! Very nice. I totally missed NORTH BY NORTHWEST on my list (thanks "orbital"). I will check out Yareds TROY (thanks "tharpdevenport").

I will open a new tread for the "ISLAND 2". There, some of the most favorite Scores are already available and you can bring 10 additional Scores. I know it is kind of a stupid game (forgive me pleease ;-)

), but I am just so curious what you all choose and I want to find some Scores I am not familiar with and check them out. Based on your choices, based on your preferences.

You could open a catch-all thread asking us for a list (10, 20, whatever) of what we consider are some of the greatest scores ever.
