and it shows, what a genius mr goldsmith was. and it shows, what art we lost in most of todays scores.

Intrada's new Sand Pebbles turned up this weekend. What a stunning restoration and much improved over the earlier Varese effort. The score is a lot brighter but the thundering percussive sound for the action remains. Now more detail, which means we can hear more of what Goldsmith fashioned for the action. The stereo separation now sounds dramatically different and gives a more spacious feel to the recording. Stunning still for 1966! Plus the odd missing extra makes the package the one Goldsmith fans want. Well done Intrada, Mike Matessino and Nick Redman.
