From the announcement of said title:
Jerry Goldsmith conducts National Symphony Orchestra

I do realize that this same orchestra is credited on the United Artists LP. However, considering that the location of the score’s recording was made at Anvil in England, as was his previous films done there, and given the fact that orchestra Goldsmith used at Anvil for these previous films, (The Omen, Boys from Brazil, and Alien) was the National Philharmonic Orchestra, could it be possible that the people at UA Records made a mistake by naming the ensemble, the National Symphony Orchestra on the album?

This is one of my favourites from Goldsmith's magical 70s period. So pleased the complete score has been restored by Intrada. Always wanted the Dead Willy cue. Well done and thank you Intrada.

Did the National Symphony exist or was this a typo and should it have been the NPO? I wonder.

Arghghhh!!!! Great great release, cannot wait to hear it, but.....

This 'National Symphony' thing makes me nuts, and I cannot say why!!! Pet peeve....

I'm sure it was always meant The National Philharmonic, just some lazy typist back
in '78 didn't make the distinction.
It bugs me because the Natl' Symphony is/was Leonard Slatkin's band based in Washington DC.
I'm just sayin.....

I'm curious about one odd thing. How can this film score be in the same time still in print in its first CD edition (available on Varèse's site for exemple) and being available with this new edition on Intrada's site ? I mean how can this be possible from a legal point of view ? Can two labels share the license for one score ?

I hope the title will be a success anyway for Intrada and that Varèse will correct their catalogue very soon...

What would a label do if a license agreement stipulated that they could no longer directly sell their remaining stock of a given title, but hundreds of copies remain? Sell them on eBay? Sell them to SAE at reduced rates? Dump them in a landfill?

First post here! Just wanted to say thanks to Roger and Intrada for releasing a proper version of this wonderful score. While Varese's edition was pleasing enough to me for the time, including most of the score, I always wanted the remaining lost tracks and of course better sound quality since I did not possess a SACD setup like most here lol. It's really funny because I just recently listened to the Varese edition last week, and literally thought "man, to have a nicer release of this score would be great" and look what happened! Perhaps I should listen to Concord's Temple of Doom soundtrack or Jurassic Park and have this same thought and maybe the same magic can happen again!

Anyway, thanks for this release, it was definitely warranted (despite some rather harsh preliminary comments on the other thread). I've been a fan of Intrada's releases for some time (some of my favorites being Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend, Back to the Future, Honey I Shrunk The Kids (despite missing cues), among many others).

Can you now please re-issue Young Sherlock Holmes? I wasn't introduced to this secret world of film score collecting until after it was already released and long sold out. Those people on eBay really are jerks...

Concerning YSH, if it's released I hope Intrada and may be Bruce Broughton will re-sequence the promo version for a better listening experience, like they did with Chris Young on The Core. Complete score on CD1 (if it fits) and original album on CD2 (it was great) should be perfect, exactly like The Great Train Robbery. So cool to get it complete, by the way, not to mention the sound and the packaging which seem gorgeous. Can't wait for Leviathan and The Ghost and the Darkness someday...
