For kicks, I took a look at GLORY...
The loudest sample on the CD is at approximately 2 minutes 59.832 seconds into track 1 ("A Call To Arms"). The sample value is +27,626 out of a maximum of +32,767; in decibels, +27,626 equates to -1.4 dB from the maximum of 0 dB.
So there is 1.4 dB of headroom to work with, which means that the "volume" of the CD can be raised by 1.4 dB without fear of clipping the signal. Any further increases of the CD "volume" would require amplitude compression.
