eBay swag (A warning about putting off buying Ltd. Editions)

Hi all,

this is my first post and I just wanted to share with the Intrada crew and all of you, that I just collected my copy of the Intrada edition of the SpaceCamp CD from the post office, that I bought on eBay last week. I'd known that Intrada were putting the disc out, and I put buying it on the long finger. "It'll be there next week, it'll be there next week" I told myself. When it sold out, I had to look for a seller on eBay that wasn't trying to scalp me. But a nice lad in England sold it to me for around $25 so I'm happy.

And I'm waiting for another eBay shipment of LaLa's Masters Of The Universe and Intrada's Invasion U.S.A. I hadn't seen Invasion until last month (one of Chuck Norris' few 80's films I hadn't seen) and was really impressed by the score. So when I noticed it on sale on ebay, I thought "Probably never turn up again for you, might as well bid for it".

So, I'd say that if you really want the CD, don't put off buying them. I'm currently running on emergency clothes supplies because SpaceCamp was worth more than doing the laundry run this weekend! Wait, what does that say about me?

Oh, oh, oh! Forgot to say that I ordered a copy of Explorers yesterday! Not letting that slipping away!

I'm one person who never sought a replacement disc and never will, so Intrada may very well have some replacements left over.

I thought about this thread when I saw how fast Varese's 1000-copy Club titles are selling. Never, even in my wildest imagination, did I expect to see Beltrami's score to Mimic sell so fast.

There was no way I was going to let my favorite Conti score elude me again, so The Karate Kid Part II quickly took another 25 bucks from me.

The good news: my Masters of the Universe score by Bill Conti and Invasion U.S.A. score by Jay Chattaway arrived today! Have them ripped to my NAS and I enjoyed listening the MOTU on the bus into town today. Such a rich, 80's fantasy score. Haven't listened to Invasion yet. Might do, tonight.

The bad news? An Post (Irish postal service) were too rough with my package and in the top of the mini box it came in, there's a great big dent where the Customs department and the postal service stamped and tagged it. And opening up the package, the MOTU case has a crack on the base of the CD case. Plus both Invasion and MOTU have broken spine pins rattling around.

But it's not all doom and gloom. The CD's themselves are unscratched, haven't been bounced around too much and the booklets are fine. I've ordered some clear single and double CD cases from Amazon UK (I have a few soundtracks that needed new cases anyway) so I should be fine and dandy soon.

I'm not becoming too obsessive, am I? :wink:
