As a commercial illustrator by trade the second image is by far the more superior in style and composition. I believe the Japanese film poster at the time used the same image, and as we all know, the Japanese are masters when it comes to poster/album art!

I also think we should have something different on the cover than was used before, I just think that second image is a stronger, more dynamic piece of art - I also prefer the typography that was used on the teaser poster (on the link above), it's closer to the comic and novel logo and it's way cooler!

About extras, it seems that certain cues written by Poledouris were not included into the movie.
According to conancompletist.com,there should be a "song" related to cave men which Conan has to fight in order to escape with the princess on his back.
If it does exist, it would be fun to hear it. :P
