A Man Called Adam. It need its first spin since arriving in the FSM holiday sale. Quite frankly it is a cd that doesn't need a reason. (Benny Carter, Louis Armstrong, Sammy Davis Jr and Mel Torme are reason enough) I was gonna spin The Prodigal afterwards but couldn't drive and unshrinkwrap at the same time so in went 99 and 44/100% Dead by Mancini which was in the car from yesterday and never got played.

George Washington (Laurence Rosenthal) and George Washington II (Bruce Broughton).

Why? In the mood for some big/opulent 80's mini-series music. Both scores are amazing.

The Perfect Storm - James Horner, why? It is my all time favorite soundtrack. I don't know why, but horner's mixture of love themes and action music seems to appeal to me, it is supirior to AVATAR in many ways, but I do think that the action music on AVATAR is better. Anyway, it is also fun, because I can hear totally Original James Horner (to some of you that is probably an oxymoron... :D ), and I can go, "Hey that was in Titanic, Cool!" or "He used the same four notes in TROY!" or even "Is that Aliens?!?!"

Anyway, I am new to the forums and I would just like to say HI! One question though. How do I get a picture file from my computer to be my avatar? It seems that I can only get my avatar to be something from the internet...

Welcome aboard.... I am sure you will enjoy the forum and get use to the regulars on it. Intrada is a great label. Thanks for sharing the James Horner thoughts (fan here too... just look at some of my other posts)...

In regards to the avatar... still trying to figure that one out too. :(

Now listening to WILLOW. Why? Because I have not heard it in a while and was in the mood for "old" James Horner and an epic fantasy score. I predict KRULL will played afterwards.

I'm listening to disc 1, track 19 of Back to the Future because people were bitching about the track assembly in another thread.

I'm listening to Jerry Goldsmith's score for CAPRICORN ONE right now (the Intrada release of the actual soundtrack).
Why?
Had a long day at the office. Originally, I wanted to do some sports this evening... but I'm unsure, feeling a bit too tired. Regardless, I am rather relaxed right now, at home. I need some kick-ass irregular rhythms to get me going again. And that CD fits the bill. Pulse rate is going up. ;-)

SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES by James Horner. Why? I just re-watched this very under-rated movie with superb performances by Jason Robards and Jonathan Pryce. Thank you Intrada for finally releasing this score a while ago. It is a gem.

Yesterday morning I listened to James Horner's COMMANDO.

Why?

Well, for one, I absolutely dig the bluesy-jazzy-electro pads-stell drum sound Horner pulled off in the 1980s. It is a really cool sound that -- at that time -- was completely new and fresh.

But the actual reason for listening to this score at that particular time was: I was driving an hour and then some on my way to work, through Urban landscapes but on the German Autobahn, and -- despite rush hour -- there was little traffic for a while, so I could floor it. And hey, COMMANDO is the PERFECT music for Urban driving at high speed. I know that for sure now. :-)

As soon as 48 HOURS arrives here, I'll be listening to it while driving too!

Listening to the original two volume set on Varese of LIONHEART by Jerry Goldsmith. Majestic music at it's best. Why? I had just watched the movie a couple of days ago. Very under-rated.

Tron 2 (Daft Punk) because the music is awesome, electronic, epic, tragic, beautiful... and I noticed that Bruce Broughton is credited as an 'orchestrator consultant', and that would explain why the music is so grand!
