Yavar, I agree with you completely on the whole Rosenman "Star Trek" score... it may not be the worst score musically (I personally think "Generations" is the culprit), but it's most assuredly the most inappropriate. Anyway, I'll quit now before I start the 13,476th "What's the Best Trek Score?" thread.

Anyone own the LP to Rosenman's A MAN CALLED HORSE? Would it make a worthy CD release?

I'm also curious to know how it compares to Rosenthal's RETURN OF A MAN CALLED HORSE... (a score which I enjoy very much)

Actually Indy I think Generations is pretty underrated. It suffers from the lack of Goldsmith's theme, especially since it was used for the series. It does however have some excellent action music in that opening sequence, and I myself really like the main theme. There are a lot of highlights, some of which are missing from the CD (it's missing the most music besides Star Trek V, which is my favorite Trek score).

Star Trek IV & Robocop 2: pretty enjoyable scores (the "Robocop" chorus may be cheesy, but it was definitely intended)

Generations: really good; I love the theme, too; exciting action, nice quiet passages; really lots of good things and a pretty good listen. I love that quick build-up in the main titles, when McCarthy switches from contemplative to heroic in 2-3 seconds.

From Rosenman, I liked Fantastic Voyage/[b] and [b]Beneath the Planet of the Apes-- I only acquired them a couple of months ago; I was not (/ "could not be") interested before.
