Tata Vega is going strong...
http://www.TataVega.comFrom the info on her wikipedia page, she recorded a couple of LPs for the Prophesy label in the early 70's, the same label The Hot Rock LP was released on.
I love The Hot Rock score. So many great musicians credited, Gerry Mulligan, Carol Kaye...
The Quincy Jones soundtrack recordings are always exceptional. There's a lot of creative energy there. Read part of his book awhile back (lost interest at the point of the Michael Jackson phase of his career). The guy nearly died in the early 70' due to a set of brain operations that resulted in him no longer being able to play the trumpet. He has recorded so much good stuff over the years. The big band LPs for Mercury, his early 60's Mancini tribute LP... On and on.
