ALIEN films on Blu-ray: Isolated scores make a comeback

According to the BBC's Film Classification site, all four ALIEN films will include isolated music score presentations on the upcoming Blu-ray release.

ALIEN will feature the same two as the original 20th anniversary release, Jerry Goldsmith's original intended score and the revised theatrical version.

ALIENS will include James Horner's score isolated, though it's too bad his score couldn't be restored to its original intended form as well. I know full well that it would fit just fine if it were.

ALIEN 3 and ALIEN RESURRECTION will include both Elliot Goldenthal's and John Frizzell's scores isolated, respectively.

Since this is Blu-ray, these will either be presented in one of the following formats:

High-bitrate Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo (224kbps or even 384kbps)

or

Dolby True-HD or DTS HD 2.0 stereo

or

High-bitrate Dolby or DTS 5.1 surround (Dolby at 640kbps, DTS at 1.5Mbps)

but it's doubtful they'll be TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround.

While there are other features to be added in addition to every extra the ALIEN QUADRILOGY DVD set had, these are the only additions related to the music that obviously might be of interest here.

Certainly good news: I love isolated scores. The original ALIEN DVD was excellent with two isolated scores, Goldsmith's as intended as well as the original music used.
Wish they'd do this a lot more often.
(And owning the DVD didn't for a second stop me from buying Intrada's Holy Grail release of the complete ALIEN score).

That's great but for some of us who don't own a blue-ray dvd player.... :cry:

$$$ is tight for me and I can't afford for these releases and a blue-ray dvd player. If these will be released in the (I guess) regular format dvd I might just get ALIEN 3. Hope Fox will consider it

Wouldn't it be awesome if the isolated score track consisted of Intrada's incomparable remaster of the ALIEN score?

One of my pet peeves strikes again....there is no letter "e" in Blu-ray.
