Intrada Soundtrack Forum

The recent release of Lee Holdridge's In Search of Peace made me pull the Charles Gerhardt album off of my shelf. It has a suite from a television series I had a vague memory of from 1983 called Wizards and Warriors. Aside from the main theme, which stuck in my head for many years, I recall that the action in the show would fade to a painting at each commercial break, which was a nifty effect.

Apparently the program only ran eight episodes and was scored by Holdridge and Alf Clausen. I have no idea how much music they produced for the show, but the Gerhardt suite is quite exciting, and I expect that the whole enterprise would yield a rollicking, swashbuckling adventure album!

Yes, I'm curious about how much was written as well. I love that suite! I was very excited to here Holdridge using that theme again for his National Geographic score "The Explorers". A great score that I would never have discovered if not for Intrada Records!

All of the National Geographic releases from Intrada have been pretty awesome. Hopefully Intrada will have the chance to do "The Great Whales" as well sometimes soon. What a theme!
