The announcement mentions that the CD is "presenting nearly complete score with maximum listening experience in mind," so any omissions are the choices of the producer, in this case James Horner himself. He clearly felt that the flow of the score in audio-only format benefited from resequencing, and this is his preferred presentation of the score.

I understand the frustration; film music is one of the few areas where the audience can be familiar with the material before it gets released. I know that I myself have come across situations where the one track I wanted wasn't included for whatever reason, or the sequence of an album wasn't as effective as I thought it would be if it were chronological. But it seems clear from the copy that these were choices, not limitations.

Thanks, Intrada gang, for this release. Given the score's legally tangled history, it's wonderful to finally to have it in a properly-prepared and licensed form.

It will be a great pleasure to slide it onto the shelf next to "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid" and have a fun doubleheader of Horner and Broughton's comic sides. ("How'd She Take It" from "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid" is my all-time favorite piece of comedy scoring. Ever.)

Now... this is me crossing my fingers for a reissue of "Return to Oz"...
