I've just seen City of Ember, the last movie Andrew Lockington has worked on.
I must say one more time that I was very impressed by Lockington's score in Journey to the Center of the Earth. It remains for many people one of the best soundtracks of 2008 and certainly the most surprisingly good one, especially from a new comer in the film scoring world. Like many of us already said, Lockington has brought back from the 90's big polished symphonic style that seemed to have vanished during the 2000's and that is strongly missing from today's scores on the big screens.
This is once again true with City of Ember and I'm anxious to listen to this on CD. The music in the picture was huge and orchestrally impressive : very catchy cues, epic brassy and choral cues.
Keep up the good work Andrew ! I'm 100 % with you on this.
