...and I really don't want this to be understood as bragging. I got the following CD in the mail today:



The note reads:

Dear Christian,

although you didn't ask for a new CD, I have sent a complete package.

Sorry for the delay, the mix-up, and the bad grammar.

I am positively in awe by both Mr Broughton's generosity and knowledge of German. What a great man (and composer!).

I would like to give a loud shout of THANK YOU firstly to Mr Feigelson for taking care of this little affair (something I really didn't expect!) and of course to Mr Broughton himself for, well, his kindness, his autograph and the wonderful little note.

Your German is very good, Mr Broughton, and should you ever come to this part of the world, I'll buy you a pint *.

Again, thank you very much indeed. This completely made my day!

Some years ago at a Music from the Movies function he very graciously signed my Silverado CD (to this day the only autographed soundtrack in my collection) and posed for a picture with me. Unfortunately it didn't come out...
