I only own The Final Countdown by this composer and really enjoy it.

With Intrada having so many of his scores in stock, I'd be interested to know what Doug or Roger or anyone else regard as his finest works and the next obvious choices for someone unfamiliar with him - in fact, I don't think I've ever seen a single film which he has scored which explains my lack of exposure to his music! :oops:

Can't agree more... John Scott is one of the most underrated composers of these days... my favorite scores of his are: KING KONG LIVES, ANTHONY AND CLEOPATRA, SCARLET TUNIC, BECOMING COLETTE, SHOGUN MAYEDA, ODYSSEY OF THE BELEM and JULES VERNE ADVENTURES.... Would be wonderful to have a regular release of King KOng Lives one day... I am still wondering why JS does not release this score on his own label

King Kong Lives is probably still under copyright laws to the De Laurantiis organization.
My favorite John Scott scores aside from KK Lives are Lochness and Shoot To Kill

Thanks Roger, Doug and everyone else for the suggestions. Will keep those in mind for the next time I order - it does seem like it would be hard to go wrong with any of his scores.

Does anyone have an opinion of A Study in Terror?

I think that JOHN SCOTT is a case + or - as BASIL POLEDOURIS, two great composers that never had luck in to get great productions, from JOHN SCOTT I loved many scores, always your work has personality, melody and very strong themes, I enjoy:

SHOGUN MAYEDA
ANTONY & CLEOPATRA
GREYSTOKE
WINTER PEOPLE
SHOOT TO KILL
THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

It is great to talk to others who share an enthusiasm for John Scott's music. My collection includes 37 John Scott scores and they do get replayed often. This week I have been relistening to SHERGAR, cue by cue over several intervals, as I attend to my Email.

A while back several of my JOS label CDs began to deteriorate due to bronzing. I contacted JOS Records and was delighted that all of the impaired titles were replaced, no questions asked and without requiring me to return the damaged titles. It shows that the quality of integrity evident in the man's music also extends to his business dealings. I was impressed.

On a separate note, I have not heard Scott's score THE LUCONA AFFAIR. Can anyone offer some comments on this one?
