It is weird how the Academy is keener to reward foreigners than their own in this category (which is one thing if they're deserved, but...). I assume that's what the poll is for, because I don't want to associate nationality with talent (you can blame the US for Steve Jablonsky, but not for Trevor Rabin*).

He's also got as many as Elmer Bernstein and Fred Karlin (yes, winning for Best Song counts).

*He's South African.

Goldsmith won because of Herrmann. The latter cancelled himself out with his two nominations.

BTW, my vote is NO. - The question is, Best Score of a Hollywood Picture or Best Score of a Non-Hollywood Picture. Winners of the former segment build a large majority.

And yet, Santaolalla shouldn't have won.

He has as many Oscars as John Addison, Charles Chaplin (Best Score for Limelight), Cong Su... (ok, I stop here). He has one more than Richard Rodney Bennett, William Walton, Ralph Vaughn Williams, Toru Takemitsu or Christopher Young.

Giorgio Moroder has still more Oscars than S.
