WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND

I can remember in the 90's getting into a heated discussion with the owner of the store I managed over something similiar. I had made a really nice purchase on a tripod which I could sell for $10.00 and make $2.00 profit. If any of you are somewhat familiar with photo gear this was a full size tripod that would have easily gone for $20.00 or more so I bought the entire amount the vendor had which was 500 pieces. I got an offer the following week from another retailer, who saw my ad in the paper, to buy all of them. I refused, the retailer threatened me, but I stuck to my disclaimer in the paper which said we reserve the right to limit quantities. My point was to make 500 people happy not one who would turn around and sell them for $20.00. He called my owner, thus the discussion. By selling them one each 500 times I helped to promote photography as a hobby. More work but longer term much better for business.

One other point. There are people who frequent e-bay and amazon that have never heard of message boards from Intrada and FSM. E-bay is their retailer.
