Agreed.

It is highly possible that Doug was simply using the English language to converse, and terms like "god of film scoring" and "open the doors" can be taken at face value, and in fact have nothing whatsoever to do with the film scored itself. Just thinking out loud here.

Any which way you slice it, though, a Goldsmith score with fantastic action cues that will open the doors to releases previously thought impossible sounds great to me.

And I'm thinking the second major release (the hit) could be Independence Day. Big hit, big brass, not as prominent on the holy grail lists but wanted nonetheless, and there at least a handful of known alternates. Could be. We'll see.
