Well Brainstorm is available from Varese, albeit as a rerecording. It would be interesting to have a release of the original of course, but I'd rather see the soundtrack labels channel their efforts into scores which are not available in any form.
Certainly the Varese rerecording is as good a recording as the soundtrack. Maybe even better -- it is the London Symphony after all, with Horner conducting, and recorded by Eric Tomlinson at Abby Road -- you can't do much better than that!
As for Wargames, that never really was adequately presented on disc. Arthur B. Rubinstein called the original album "a complete debacle".
