"Howard the Duck" has two recorded rejected scores (one by Schifrin), so we all know how hard it's been getting just Barry's score...

For me
HOWARD THE DUCK as awful as it is (the movie I mean)
has a wonderful mesh of 80s music.

A grand and inappropriate John Barry score which stands out as being too noble for a wise cracking duck.
The songs written for the film by Thomas Dolby which are quite good 'n' catchy.
and additional electronic pop score, written by Sylvester Levay utilizing Barry's theme, which suits the film much better that Barry's does.

A deluxe release needs all of these elements together just to properly represent this score and Lucas' greatest failure.
So, La-La Land or BSX would be the best choice to handle this one.

Also, since MCA/Universal also has THE LEGEND OF THE LONE RANGER in its vault maybe that is what Intrada has cookin'?

Well, I am guessing you adored The Lord of the Rings scores since they clearly meet your criteria for working on all 4 levels.
