I've always very been very partial to THE DAY OF THE LOCUST. It's never been a much-discussed score, even among Barry fans, but for whatever reasons I've always enjoyed this very short score. And it's a great LP with a striking cover, too. So I'd be very happy indeed if this score was released eventually. MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS and THE DOVE are also very high on my list of personal favorites.

The main DAY OF THE LOCUST theme is gentle and haunting, the source cues conjure up old Hollywood admirably and the final, atonal cue is striking even by Barry's standards. I have a feeling Barry was then going through a transition period in his writing, and it does show a composer trying to branch out musically. i enjoy the results.

And Jeepers Creepers is a great, classic song.

Day Of The Locust is a beautiful score. The atonal ending is indeed striking, but the main theme does it for me. Barry's trademark harp and flute writing, coupled with those strings....it's one of the composer's most heartbreaking compositions.

But since it was a Decca release - and nothing less than a Paramount film, this one does seem more unlikely than any of the scores on the list. A shame.

I voted for "The Dove", since I really like the main theme.

'Follow Me' is a great score. It's a shame that it has never been given a proper CD release...
