I picked up 3- The Young, the Bernstein and of course, NORTH BY NORTHWEST. What a beautiful cover. I, too, was never happy with the old Starlog recording so I'm tickled to death to see this release.

I opted for "The Tall Men", "By Love Possessed" and, in a separate, later, order, "Magic Fire."

I was a bit shocked that the Varese re-recording was a Club issue. Nothing particularly rare, limited about it except Varese declaring it was 3,000 copies only. It's an against-the-norm item in Club releases, IMO. Nothing wrong with the recording...just not must-have for now as a Club issue. If they sell out, then they sell out. More power to 'em.

The Conti was, for me, totally resistible.

So, I saved a few bucks...and that's great news 'cause now I can afford the next FSM and Intrada releases.

It was, however, the first time I didn't buy all the Club titles. That seems a bit sad to me...but not sad enough to spend money for things I don't want.

So, Intrada recorded Spellbound with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and Varese recorded NBNW with the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra. Is this the same outfit renamed or two separate orchestras?
