Great topic. Here are a few from my own list of unreleased score tracks on a licensed CD ( I hope I haven't duplicated any that have been mentioned already):

A Man Alone (V. Young)
Alvarez Kelly (J. Green)
Big Jake (E. Bernstein)
The Big Valley (TV) (G. Duning, E. Bernstein & L. Schifrin)
Cat Ballou (F. DeVol)
The Charge At Feather River (M. Steiner) Originally shot in 3D & re-
leased in 6-Track Stereo!
Centennial (TV) (J. Addison)
Cimarron Strip (TV) M. Jarre theme & episodes by H. Geller, Morton
Stevens, Cyril Mockridge (1), R. Shores & L.
Klatzkin
Comes A Horseman (M. Small)
Cowboy! (G. Duning)
A Distant Trumpet (M. Steiner)
Day Of The Evil Gun (J. Alexander)
Duel At Diablo (Neal Hefti)
Firecreek (A. Newman)
Fort Dobbs (M. Steiner)
The Hanging Tree (M. Steiner)
Hondo (H. Friedhofer)
Ice Palace (M. Steiner) A bit of a stretch (It's a "Northern"?)
The Jayhawkers (J. Moross)
Lancer (TV) (J. Moross) Catchy theme, if memory serves me correctly
The Man From Laramie (G. Duning) Originally rel. in 4-track Stereo
Nevada Smith (A. Newman)
North And South (TV) (B. Conti) - Complete
One-Eyed Jacks (H. Friedhofer)
The Rare Breed (J. Williams)
Rio Bravo (D. Tiomkin) - My own "holy grail" of Western genre scores
The Rounders (J. Alexander)
Shane (V. Young)
The Sheepman (J. Alexander)
Sunset (H. Mancini)
The Tall Men (V. Young)
Tension At Table Rock (D. Tiomkin)
True Grit (E. Bernstein) although Tadlow did a superb job on the re-record
Two Rode Together (G. Duning)
3:10 To Yuma (G. Duning)
Ulzana's Raid (F. DeVol)
The Valley Of Gwangi (J. Moross)
Vera Cruz (H. Friedhofer)
Wagon Train (TV) (J. Moross) With a theme borrowed from Jayhawkers
The War Wagon (D. Tiomkin)
Will Penny (D. Raksin)

I am still adding to the list as time and memory permit. But it's one of those lists that I hope grows smaller with the passage of time, and the legitimate release of some of these treasures.

Oops! Missed a couple:

The Wild, Wild West (TV) (R. Markowitz Theme & 28 episodes, R. Shores,
H. Geller, J. Pleis, R. Drasnin, & Morton Stevens)
The Wild, Wild West Revisited (TV) (Jeff Alexander) Reunion movie)

These might make a nice 2 CD Set (If there is enough thematic material) a la The Man From Uncle?

Also: It would be nice to see 'The Cowboys) (J. Williams)
and "Bad Girls" (J. Goldsmith) expanded (yes....every last second  )

[quote="algonrei"]<Big Jake (E. Bernstein)
Released by Prometheus

Thanks for pointing this out. DOH! on my part, I somehow didn't transfer this from the "want" list to the "have" list when I purchased it in 2003! Sorry!

<Nevada Smith (A. Newman)
"Released" by Tusnami

<One Eyed Jacks (North)
"Released" by Tusnami

I have both, Nevada Smith & OEJ, and do not consider them legitimate releases (or Anything else from Tsu****, for that matter). Sound quality is lacking on OEJ especially, and I would love to send BOTH of them to my Leroy Holmes Memorial Frisbee collection.

<Rio Bravo (D. Tiomkin) - My own "holy grail" of Western genre scores
And mine. But I am afraid it seems to be complete lost. I wish some private collector could have something rescued.

I 'm with you there! After seeing the release of things "rumored lost" like The Satan Bug, and The Devil's Brigade...hope springs eternal that s o m e t h i n g might exist out there.

I am aware that many of these are "lost", "rumored lost",
"misplaced", just plain "thrown out" (Thanks WB!) or available as a
b**t (cowboy b**t?). The criteria I used was based pretty much on the lack of a legitimate licensed CD release by a legitimate company (i.e. Intrada, FSM, LA-LA, Varese).
And I also have to point out that several of these don't have enough score to merit a release on their own , and a few of them would have to be paired with the OST release of something like Spartacus or Alien to sell more than a dozen copies.
Thanks algonrei, for setting me straight on the Big Jake error. I guess I might blame it on that second glass of wine while I was typing the list last eve. And it's always nice to see another fan of Tiomkin's excellent
Rio Bravo score. :)

Anyone at all familiar with Harry Gregson-Williams' SERAPHIM FALLS?

Also, I'm a bit curious if someone has an opinion about Bruce Langhorne's score to THE HIRED HAND. Though I haven't seen it years, I truly enjoyed the film, but don't recall the music sounding anything beyond what Ry Cooder might have done. Any thoughts?

Some more Golden Age Western:

Jesse James - Louis Silvers
The Return of Frank James - David Buttolph
Three Godfathers and She Wore A Yellow Ribbon - Richard Hageman
The Gunfighter - Alfred Newman
Springfield Rifle - Max Steiner
Man of the West - Leigh Harline
Run of the Arrow - Victor Young
Wichita - Hans J. Salter
San Antonio - Max Steiner

Especially a release of the Richard Hageman titles would be great. Don´t know if he is represented on other CDs except on Silva Screen´s True Grit-Music from the Classic Films of John Wayne where a short piece of She Wore A Yellow Ribbon can be found.
