The first thing that comes to mind when I think of 70's spin-offs is The Seven-Ups, though I have no idea if it ever had a score rejected.

If the second is "Conan", Doug & Roger have been smoking some powerful crack to think 1,000 will do...

Conan is 82 so that is more early and not mid 80s. However, a sought-after morricone score like red sonja limited to 1000 copies may also be a little weird. But I can't think of another score that fits the clue right now.

I got an odd feeling that no matter what it is, they've seriously underjudged the qauntity for it. Don't know why, just feel that way.

If 1982's I, The Jury qualifies as courtroom drama the special collection might be a bill conti tripple header. And there is a lot of unreleased scores from his 70's output.

How about a complete Conan the Destroyer? That was 1984. I love the main title piece, which is not on the Varese edition.

I heard from a very relieable source that conan the destroyer is indeed coming out but not from intrada. Prometheus is rumoured to do this one. 1000 copies for this score would be not enough anyways.
