ISLANDS IN THE STREAM
Composed and Conducted by JERRY GOLDSMITH
INTRADA Excalibur Collection - MAF 7095
INTRADA presents a newly packaged re-issue of Jerry Goldsmith's
landmark score. Franklin Schaffner's 1977 film from Ernest Hemingway's
story elicited one of George C. Scott's most profound performances,
aided immeasurably by Goldsmith's warm theme for solo French horn and
orchestra. Another exciting highlight is the complete 12-minute "Marlin"
fishing sequence. Jerry Goldsmith himself conducts this 1986 recreation
of his "own personal favorite" score with the Hungarian State Symphony
Orchestra. Intrada proudly places this title in its Excalibur
Collection, along with IVANHOE, JULIUS CAESAR, and JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS.
Coming soon: details on Intrada's comprehensive restoration of Bruce
Broughton's SILVERADO.
