What, no cornets, flugelhorns, Wagner tubas, or bass trumpets? :D

But as a colorful orchestration lover, I can't wait for this one, I hope...

Hey, we did use piccolo trumpets on a couple of cues. Okay? And I suppose you can almost refer to the baritones as Wagner tubas - I repeat almost - inasmuch as both sound similar to euphoniums. Which is what the composer had in mind.

I hope my enthusiasm doesn't once again just send people off looking for the moon. But if you like hearing musical forces like this, especially with all these extra brass players, you should get your fill. Since I love low brass in particular, this one tickles me. The low end stuff (bass trombone, contra-bass trombone, multiple tubas and whatnot) really drive all these action cues home!

Incase this sells out in days, or even hours, are there going to be some copies set aside for people not here or away on personal business (like some unfortunate folks over at FSM when discussing BABY) and some ones for people like me who don't have a credit card and canmt' pay instantly?

I don't think any titles will be set aside automatically.

You'd have to e-mail to request that and,
due to the nature of the announcements,
I'm sure Intrada is willing to accommodate any customer who wisely acts quickly enough to secure a copy of...
whatever Monday will bring.

There's a difference between "wisely" and working two jobs, being at hospital, having to leave for family emergency, so forth.

Then you need to have your priorities in order.

Right. Two jobs is a priority.

If you're working two jobs that usually means money is tight and perhaps CDs are the last thing one should be thinking about.

No, it means you hae a personal life too, and have to eat and sleep and some CDs sell in, well, BABY time.

Life isn't as narrow as you think it is.

No one should be worrying about prioritizing between their jobs or having CDs. For most of us, the former is necessary before we can have the latter. The pecking order on that one's mostly a given.

But, to ease minds, I just don't expect this to disappear as fast as BABY. Hardcore Goldsmith fans are a world unto themselves - but this one isn't by Goldsmith. And it's not BTTF, either. The instrumentation is larger than what BTTF required and the score itself is more ambitious. And yes, it's from a hugely successful movie, too. But just because stuff like this pumps me up, it doesn't necessarily mean it'll pump everyone else up. I realize it's hard to share my enthusiasm without just overbuilding your expectations. On the other hand, any score that needs 6 trumpets and 5... okay, okay. I'll shut up.

Geez! All that brass and not one Sousaphone in sight?

Ron, on the slight chance you didn't know this already: a Sousaphone is basically just a tuba designed to wrap around the player, making it easier to carry while marching in a band. Three guesses where the name comes from, and the first two guesses don't count.

I'm excited Doug because I think your tastes are similar to mine, maybe not with everything, but I've found that I share similar thoughts at times about music and composers.

When I think composer involvement and huge hit with a large orchestra several goodies pop into my mind.

Is it a 2 disc set or single?

That's a safe assumption.

FSM's today, Intrada's tomorrow, Varese Club -- about two weeks maybe?

And by the time VSC comes, there will be more Intrada, likely.

Because of wallets, some of these titles have to suck
