Our newest release hits this coming Tuesday the 16th, on the heels of Jerry Goldsmith’s posthumous and long overdue recognition of his magnificent career this week with a Hollywood “Walk Of Fame” Star. The release brings us full circle with the composer in a 3-CD set that offers a great title oft-presented but ironically never truly complete, until now. Enjoy it all at last, totally remastered and featuring some really cool never-before-heard music. It’s always an honor to be associated with this legendary composer’s influential film scores. It began in 1986 with MGM’s big summer film at the time, and none of us imagined we’d survive the challenges. We did. Interestingly, after that project, I enjoyed meeting soon-to-be Goldsmith producer extraordinaire Robert Townson. Mentioning him feels appropriate since we had similar origin stories. Bob and I got together here in the office, established a channel for expanding Intrada’s sales into Canada and talked about our ambitions to see every one of Goldsmith’s extraordinary works made available on album. For my part, the earliest targets were obtaining the rights to Night Crossing, a particular favorite then-unreleased score from Disney and also premiering on CD the scores for First Blood and The Wind And The Lion. Bob jumped in with Varese Sarabande and tackled the massive score to The Final Conflict. And onwards we went. Anyway, let me focus on Intrada. Dozens and dozens of Goldsmith soundtracks became Intrada releases, many of them world premieres. Fun tidbit: Roger Feigelson came into the Intrada shop early on, snapped up a copy of First Blood and mentioned his dream fulfilled would be an eagerly sought release of Night Crossing. He got his dream fulfilled and eventually just joined up. Funny how things turn out. In any case, with more Goldsmith albums in production now, the list continues to grow. We hope you’ll support our latest effort, a familiar favorite given an all-new look and feel. Thank you.
