I tried searching this section, but couldn't find a thread about this score. This film was a childhood favourite of mine, one of many that my parents had recorded off TV for on old VHS tapes. Having recently re-discovered the film through the Blu-Ray release, I've been thinking more about the score lately. The original CD seems to be long out of print, and scarce/pricey on secondary markets. It also only seems to run about 44 minutes, so there must be a little more to include on a potential expanded release. Likely not 2 disc's worth, but a 1 disc expansion would be amazing.

This one was already loooong OOP and crazy priced 15 years ago. I'd be happy with a simple rerlease myself. It's a very nice score (and even contains a bit of music that made it into The Land Before Time the next year....it's Horner after all)

This score on LP was my very first James Horner soundtrack. So this and my two first Horner CD`s (The Pelican Brief and Patriot Games) was my introduction to the maestro.

Count me in for this one. I'm a bit mystified why it hasn't shown up already - all the other Horner scores from hit 80s films have!

I think it's UMG and judging by past releases, they take a bit longer to get out. Am assuming it would be Intrada given their plethora of past Horner titles, though LLL have a Horner for this year apparently, so maybe it's Batteries?

Would love this one in my collection, either from Intrada or LLL.
To be honest I just hope this happens from any label.

I know we like physical media, but I believe the original soundtrack for this was available on iTunes recently for $5.99. There is sure to be an expanded version with more music, but until then it is by far the more economic price to tide over any James Horner enthusiasts :-)

Lossy AAC doesn't tide over /anything/.

The original album is quite generous (45 mins) but I'm curious as to how much more there is and whether it's worth having. Might have to rewatch the film again sometime and see.
