Now that the expanded edition of The Rescuers Down Under has been released how about a full soundtrack release for the original The Rescuers movie?

I second this one! (just purchased the expanded "Down Under" - another great film score finally fully released)

Last I had read, the masters were destroyed in a natural disaster so I wouldn't get your hopes up about it coming out soon. Then again masters are lost all the time and later found so maybe this one will get lucky.

Yes I was in Contact with Artie Butler a great couple of years ago and what he had was destroyed in a flood if I remember correctly

If I recall, Artie Butler's personal tapes may have been destroyed, but Disney still has their masters. I believe since about the mid to late 1950s onward Disney was pretty good about retaining their music only tracks as they would often re-edit features for television and 16mm releases and sometimes need raw elements for the editing, not to mention promo campaigns for television and theatrical reissues. I think a lot of the films from the 1930s thru "Peter Pan" have music-only tracks that were lost/destroyed. I kind of remember an interview with Randy Thornton where he mentioned that he had worked on The Rescuers score tracks but that there may never be demand enough for Disney to issue a score album.
