Favorite score to a Spielberg film?

He's my favorite director and I love the music to his films. So many great films and scores. Very hard to pick, but lately I have been giving HOOK a lot of spins. What about you guys?

For a Spielberg-directed film, my easy pick is A.I.

i'd have to go with War of the Worlds.
While I don't think the film as a whole is completely underrated, I do think certain elements of it are neglected as a result of its weaknesses, namely Spielberg's set-piece direction for the first half of the movie, which is staggering in its power, and technically up there with the best work he's ever done, and also John Williams' score, which almost takes a back seat for once, and yet suggests a cosmic scale, using a very heavy and mature sound for a family sci-fi movie.

Almost anything Spielberg and John Williams did before 1984 was absolutely golden in my book. Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, 1941, E.T. --

If I could only have one, I guess it'd be Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Lots of great music has been written for Steven Spielberg's movies, by far most of it by John Williams.

My personal favorite? Most likely Close Encounters Of The Third Kind.

For me, it's definitely HOOK because that is a childhood favorite of mine and I always loved Williams' score.

Guess I - and Williams - are in the minority. I once talked with him about my favorite being Empire Of The Sun and he responded, "Really? That's mine as well." I am not making that up. I think he has good taste.

My personal favorite is probably Temple of Doom, even though I mostly don't like the film...but in terms of film and score together probably Jaws!

My brain says Jaws , but my heart says E.T...two wonderful scores full of emotions and E.T. jerks my tearchannels :cry:

while Jaws is pure fright with that sharkmotif :twisted:

Temple of Doom is another great score and dare I say I´m also a fan of
