Yor, I think the FSM site is a great place to start a "Yor Want Williams' Dracula Remastered Now" thread. Maybe you'll get your first clue as to who's not producing the soundtrack if Roger chimes in with a helpful "it ain't us."

Yor go now.

I would also prefer separate tracks on YSH, my favourite score from Bruce Broughton.
But I think a 2cd set can include both the complete score (with the merged tracks, as Bruce Broughton seems to prefer) and the LP program, that has the main highlights as isolated tracks (Main Title, Solving The Crime, Waxing Elisabeth).

I don't like when fans try to tell to artists how they should do their work (the Lucas syndrome).
Being a fan doesn't give to anyone the right to tell the composer how he should work. We all should let Bruce Broughton create his album HIS way and not the way of a bunch of 2 overexcited fans. What's written on the cover of the CD ? Music composed and conducted by Bruce Broughton, not Music by Yor !

Film producers constantly tell composers what they should do with their art, and fans are no better when they do the same. Bruce Broughton, do your OWN magic. That's what we love.

Wow... Young Sherlock Holmes a new CD release? Great. And I for one have full confidence in Mr. Broughton's assembly choices. In any case, I'm one of those who prefer longer (and if well done segueing) cues over lots of short snippets.

I'm liking YOR's 3CD concept…
2CDs of the score as per Mr. Broughton prefers…
And then a third disc with the MCA album master.

It would be even cooler if that third disc could have additional tracks of other major cues (set-pieces) as they appear in the film.

It should please the fans anyway.

Slyly-step!!!
Rami-tep!!!

Yor might be being harsh about it, but there's nothing wrong with "I'm much more likely to buy it if it's done X way, because that's what I prefer". You're right that being demanding like that isn't necessarily the way to go, but at the same time blindly buying everything and saying "well they know what's best" isn't either.

I think Yor is right.
Costumers don't like "cut and merge" assembly.
Costumers like separate tracks.
If a composer want to do something he likes, he should produce it by himself, with his money, and try to selle it on his own, alone.
If You want to sell a cd to costumers, You should respect costumer's requests.
The request is: do NOT make mix, cut & merge with the tracks.
If we would like to join and mix the tracks, we could do it by ourselves, using Proo Tools or other software.
If You mix the tracks, we (the costumers) will not be able to split them in order to listen what we want to hear (and what we have payed for).

Yor is a very good costumer. And so do I.
Please respect Yor's will. YSH is a masterpiece, a Holy Grail for all of us. This soundtrack deserves respect. All Your costumers deserve respect.
Please Intrada.

I think only a bunch of collectors prefers a "mix & paste" tracklisting.
All the other 2990 ones prefer to have the whole tracks, without fades and mixing.
If You give us sperate tracks, who wants to have them mixed could mix them on his own.
If You make a mix, nobody could be able to separate and regenerate the cuts and the fades. There's no choice for us in that case.

Only Intrada, in the whole soundtrack market world, did those strange mixing on some albums, did'n it?

All artists did most of their art following what the person who paid for their work want.

Just watch "The Agony and the Ecstasy" and you will see that.

Artists who did their art without anyone paying for it died of starvation.

Bruce Broughton is not different.

He has every right to produce an album with mammoth cues with tracks that have nothing to do with other merged togheter.

No one said he does not has the right.

It is just that most people simple do not like this kind of approach.

Douglas Fake tried to convince his customers that one big track with all music from the open act of "Conan, the Barbarian" was the way to go.

But most people reject this aproach, YOR remebers it quite vividly. And the 3CD set was released with the cues splited, yes?

YOR does not know ONE person that likes the way mr. Broughton glued all those unreleated cues into one mamoth cue in the YSH promo album.

And YOR just LOVES big cues, like "Stealing the Enterprise", from "ST3", or "The Plan", from "Extreme Prejudice", or "Night Fight", from "Rambo 3".

This tracks are big because it was the way they were composed to be.

But to merge "Flaming Hat Rack-Main Title", "I Never Want To Be Alone-Stained Glass Knightmare-Solving The Crime", "One Last Duel-Window Parting-Curio Vision", "Waxing Elizabeth-Diversionary Tactics" or "Ehtar's Escape-The Final Duel-Final Farewell" just does not make any sense and is quite annoying.

YOR is not the owner of the truth. YOR just say his opinion.

Do not get mad at YOR!
