Yes i think LOTR are some of the worst films ever made.And it doesnt matter how many oscars it won or how much money it took at the box office, terrible movies make loads of money and win oscars every year.The Shawshank Redemption,Blade Runner, and John Carpenters The Thing are all classic movies.The fact that they were originally box office bombs and didnt win any oscars doesnt change that.

LOTR does have nice music though which is why i won all three scores.

For a blockbuster or tentpole title, HOOK is a title that jumps to my mind. I have no love for the film and consider it a a big let down. But the Score is a masterpiece.

However, as with some of the comments on this board. I'm sorry but there's no chance in hell that 'Hook' belongs in this list. It's a classic, no question about it. The story, sets and performances are magical, and they are easily equal to that score. I've never understood the hatred that is aimed at this movie. It does seem to come from people of a certain age though. More young people like it than old.

Has anyone mentioned Waterworld? Possibly the dumbest film I've ever seen with an epic score by James Newton Howard. The money must have been flowing freely when that piece of horseshit was being made. Didn't it cost something like two hundred million dollars?

For me Young Guns 2 is my best score. I was waiting for it for so long. I had the bootleg version but am so pleased Intrada released a official one. I would love them to do Terminater 2 complete. That would most prob top my list.

hhmm, off the top of my head I would nominate Silvestri's score for Van Helsing.

John Carter could also qualify (the score is amazing!!) but I actually enjoy the film a bit. Certainly not a great film though.
