I will defer to Doug's judgement. Either way is fine with me, if I had to chose I would probably go with the long cue(the way it is the film).

I vote for the film assembly, in this case. I love the cumulative power of tracks that were designed to flow into one another.

I'm on the fence about this one. I'm used to hearing the original tracks separate, but I can't deny that hearing them flow into one another will create a singlular tour de force. On the other hand, all of the tracks that make up the opening mega-cue were on the original soundtrack album and separate but I do sometimes wonder if that might not have been more the convention of soundtrack albums at the time rather than a specific decision Poledouris made.

I agree with those who say that even if the tracks are crossfaded into one another, there should be track marks to delineate the individual cues.

Thanks for the opportunity to contribute here in the making of this glorious set. I would prefer that we stick to Basils' own album arrangement of these as separate cues . The fact that they will be within the same film assembly will suffice on its own. Listeners can have the advantage of selecting the cues randomly as well.

I hope all of the source music is also being retained but that may be relegated to the bonus cues instead of meshing within the score tracks. James Fitzpatrick had included them in the same film assembly order for the re-recording which is fine but in Your release Id like that to be separate. Love to hear the original "Tavern Music".

Also when doing the liner notes, can we get lyrics of 'Riders of Doom', ' Gifts of Fury' etc in both the latin and its translation. It would also be nice to have interview excerpts from Both Basil and Zoe Poledouris on the making of this legendary score within the booklet. All in all make this 2cd as epic and grand release as you can. Oh I cant wait!!!

I going to go with seperate here also.
It's a similar situation to William's Temple of Doom. It's pretty easy to crossfade nowdays with any simple editing suite.
If they're crossfaded on the CD you can't un-crossfade em!

I would prefer the long film sequence because, as a James Horner big listener, I love those long cues and know they are more effective that way. Besides, it's probably a 2 CD set, with many cues, many tracks. And like it's been said, we already have the separate cues, but we have never listened to this giant cue outside of the picture.
Doug, you've been very close to Basil and probably know better than anyone what he would have done. Maybe he prefered the 3 cues separated on a small album presentation (unable to give a musical presentation faithfull to the movie) and he would have prefered the long suite on a 2 CD complete score (logically more faithfull to the film presentation).
Anyway, your choice will be mine as well. I completely trust your judgment.
Thank you for letting us give our opinion about the making of an Intrada album, it's another proof (if it was needed) that Intrada is a super label !

I agree with those who wants it as seperate tracks but if possible without the 2 second gap between them (then both sides win)
Either way, the most important thing is ofcourse that the music in all its fine glory will be there from Intrada and I support either way...
(But it is PRO of Doug to ask us :) )

Separate. As I don't own any of the previous Conan releases and don't plan on double dipping. Anyone can easily join them if they'd like to. Please keep the tracks separate on the release.

Film assembly, as Milan is going to reissue the 1982 album with the separate tracks.

If I wanted the film assembly, I'd watch the film. Please keep the tracks separate, as Basil Poledouris intended.
