I am enjoying the one copy that I bought!

I think it's a neat thing for those who missed the score to get another shot at it in a private shuffle of sorts.

And hey, if people want to buy ten copies and then sell nine of them at eBay... pfff... let them. I do believe that the majority of these albums end up in collector's hands for reasonable prices, and the few copies that go for a hundred dollars at eBay... why care?
Really, twenty years ago, many collectors would have paid these eBay prices as regular prices for such a terrific Predator release. These are good times for film score collectors. When this "limited edition soundtrack thingy" first started in the late 1990s, who'd have thought how far it would go and how many scores would finally be available?

ITS LIKE THIS:
When a release is released officially by a label, it doesnt matter if it sells out in a day , a week, a month or FIVE YEARS. What matters is, that it has gotten a true release and exists out there in a legal way and as a fan of the music you are able to get it in one way or the other.
We atleast got the music, then if it costs 1$ or 200$ it is only a matter how much the person wanting it is prepared to toss up for it.
There will always be collectors out to make a profit on someoneelses merch, but thats life...
me myself have never bought more than one release of a CD and if I should do it, it will be because it s a grale that I will wear out and I want a second CD just in case. But i will never judge persons that buys a couple of the same CD, as long as they are fans to the music, and not wants to profit on a release ONLY
In 10 years, there will be new collectors that wants the Goonies on a true CD (and not a download on demand) and that CD had a 5000 print , but is now OOP and they have to buy it through e-bay or whatever. Thats life and if people that today collects/or listen/etc on soundtracks dont have the time to visit different labels´ sites upon new releases, then they are "shit out of luck"
I sit by the computer every second week when Intrada has its release schedule and when LLLR announces new releases I´m there. I regularly check the messageboards when Varese, Kritzerland,Perseverance, HowlinWolf, FSM and even BSX have new releases, and since i began doing this NEVER missed a release I wanted. I didnt buy Space Camp, I didnt buy Star Trek Club release or ID4 etc, but if I want it today, I atleast have a choice to get the CD...
People will always miss out on new releases, but they have to suck it up, and be glad that there is an official release out there even if they then have to hoist up some more dough for it...

WE should be thankful instead of saying that "This company should have done this or that company should have dione that, and there is a slight hiss on that track and why did they do that on that track"
Give the labels some applauds instead for being there...I know I do!!!!!

I always orders two CD´s. One is for my own pleasure, the other is for trading. I never sold CD´s at ebay. I buy them there for reasonable prizes. I made lots of trades with people from american, french and german boards who missed out on a CD i had an could give me in exchange a CD i missed out. This is my way to reduce prizes on higly demanded CD´s and i think that doesn´t make me a speculator.

Intrada, LaLaLand and Varese give ample warning and Intrada has their schedule set. Even Kritzerland gives advanced warnings and FSM usually does 2 -3 discs a month only.


Unless you don't own a computer or are in the military, or some job that might require long shifts, there's no excuse for not keeping track of release schedules.

Pre-announcements, set times for ordering and limit the number one can purchase to 2 copies, until a few days have gone by and they sell the rest to whom ever wants to buy 10-100 copies.
That would give everyone plenty of time to find out about them and get them before the speculators get them.

STOP THE PRESSES!!!!!!!!
Startracks has a solution here...Release the CDs when he wants them released, and also tell him in advance the amount, and which title it is so he can plan it to his busy life...

I will sit up tonight waiting for the new release...I don´t mind...If it would be a title that is of no interest to me, I go straight to bed...no biggie but it is a thrill every 2nd week sitting here and yes I have only 6 hours until I begin work when the releases often are so 5 hour sleep for an Intrada title...Well worth it i.m.o

Sorry if I missed the information for this elsewhere, but I'm re-listening to Intrada's fantastic edition for PREDATOR, and only curious as to why the referenced hiss is still a bit apparent. I have my theories, of course (age, element conditions, etc), but being a huge fan of this score, I was just nitpicking. Being digital, it's a great sound, none-the-less. I am only wondering why this score has the hiss it does.
