I've been thinking long and hard about my grails - that is, what do I just want, and what do I really want. What are the ones I wish I could listen to all day, but currently I can't...well...
InnerSpace Never mind, thankyou La La Land!!! Not simply because it's Jerry Goldsmith, but because I've loved this movie since I was nine years old. I watched it countless times on video, and in fact one of the first times I ever tried to write something creatively, it was a sequel to this movie (didn't get very far, but I was young!) I love this score, and the day I get to hear Gut Reaction properly, with that fanfare, I'm probably going to get quite emotional.
The Goonies Never mind, thankyou Varese!!! Again, something I've loved since I was very young. Finally seeing the movie in widescreen when it hit DVD was amazing (not to mention it had always been censored in the UK on TV!) and I can never, ever forget how the young me feels about Kerri Green. Having this score would be something to compliment that feeling.
If.... One of my favourite films ever, and Marc Wilkinson's score is haunting and eerie, and something I really, really want. (And it's Paramount, so now who knows!)
Two short score grails, which I'm not sure justify full CDs, but I love none-the-less:
Prime Cut by Lalo Schifrin Juggernaut by Ken Thorne Never mind, thankyou Kritzerland!!!
There are plenty of others than I want, but probably don't make grail status. I'd also like to point out that this list would have been longer, but Intrada already released Honey, I Shrunk The Kids and WarGames!
