I've been playing the heck out of Intrada's "Comes a Horseman" (quickly becoming one of my fav's) lately and wondering about the following scores of his, all of which I know nothing about:

THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE
AUDREY ROSE
CONTINENTAL DIVIDE
THE STEPFORD WIVES

Can anyone shed some light on these scores? Thanks and looking forward to any future releases of his music on CD!

Unless this picture -- whose full title is LOVE AND PAIN (and the whole damn thing) -- was an independent production which Columbia Pictures merely distributed theatrically, there may not be much chance of a DVD release -- sadly. After all, it did poor business theatrically in 1972-73 and neither Maggie Smith nor Timothy Bottoms is commercial enough (nor Alan J. Pakula either, if it's not one of his "paranoia" projects) to make a studio think they'd sell enough DVDs to make it worth their while today.

But it's such a lovely film and score that anybody's best chance is just to watch for it being televised on cable sometime, and record it.

I've had the pleasure to recently re-watch Love And Pain And The Whole Damn Thing on the local cable TV (thanks to that I was reminded to mention it here) -- they did about six reprises within a week but no more since then. I'm glad that there are more people who remember this title and think of it as high as I do. Maybe we'll all be lucky one day--DVD-wise, CD-wise or otherwise-wise...

If I'm not mistaken Maggie Smith won an Oscar ("California Suite" -- I would love a CD of that too) and I believe she also currently stars in the Harry Potter movies. But sadly I too am afraid that it's not 'commercial enough' to warrant such an older movie of hers.
