Here are the first exclusive clips from Patrick Doyle's THE LAST LEGION score. It was ripped from the promo DVD or something (probably when the film was not released yet and the sound quality is pretty good if you can live with the SFX). There is an error with track names in links 6,7 altough tracks are named very similarly, these are two different cues. Hope nobody will freak out because of posting the clips but waiting for this one has already been too long probably not only for me. Simply love that! Amazing large orchestral-choral score. Any news when the CD's coming and on which label?

No! Rest assured, Ellen: you're not alone. This score is not only gorgeous, but each listen brings along more nuances and details. The Last Legion definitely is the more popular release of the two: it's grand, brassy. Dare I say, bombastic? But I think I definitely prefer As You Like It over The Last Legion.

Here's looking forward to Sleuth on Varèse next October. This is such a cool year for longtime Doyle fans everywhere.

Wow! Looks like you seem to enjoy As You Like It, great! I've been a fan of his ever since I saw Henry V sometime in 1991, so color me a little biased, but I think As You Like It might be one of his greatest ever. My absolute favorites of his are Hamlet and A Little Princess with Carlito's Way not too far behind. But rarely has he been so magical, subtle and delicate. As You Like It is almost anachronistic in this day and age. Some parts sound like they were composed by some golden age composer brought back to 2005. Great stuff.

Recently, I've also enjoyed Nanny McPhee quite a bit, even moreso than Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, although there are some killer tracks here and there.
