Hilda Stover; Mamie Crane hands down the best

There arn't many Raksin treasures about, Hilda Crane fits right in there.

As to what golden treasures may surface in the future, I was just watching The Harder They Fall (1956) with Bogey onboard. The music from Friedhofer is quite interesting, usually is, when I went to look for the music release, it's unheard of. "Happy" South American fiesta style music for the traveling shots of the "prize" fighter bus, some ominous, lower register and dragging music for Toro's horrific beating by the masher. Plenty of good material for Hugo to work with in the film, he hooked the psychological aspects and the moral crunchers. At one point the ominous music is overlayed with the fiesta music, then pow straight into action.

Anyway, we all need this baby released.

I'd go for THE CONVERSATION, THE BARBARIAN AND THE GEISHA, CAPRICORN ONE, SATURN 3, THE STORY ON PAGE ONE, MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, 2001.

These seven CDs easily fall in the absolute best category. These scores I indeed play A LOT! And releasing David Shire's THE CONVERSATION was an absolute idée de génie, IMHO.

I've got some friends who're great movie buffs but not into actual soundtrack collecting. Well, they nevertheless jumped right out of their seat when they learned about this release! This score does have a very dedicated cult status attached to it and deservedly so.
